PDG Consulting with the help of Partnership for Los Angeles Schools has adopted David Starr Jordan High School in their Adopt-A-School program.
The Partnership for Los Angeles Schools has the goal of developing a productive relationship at each of its schools with a business and its employees. The unique talent, additional support and resources provided by a business can help students excel in school, dream big and become future leaders in the workforce. The Partnership’s Adopt-A-School program provides both the business and the school an opportunity to produce educated citizens who contribute to the economic and social well-being of the community. As part of the Lundquist Fellows program, students selected from our middle and high schools are given the opportunity to shadow a professional for one day.
Last Thursday April 2nd a few members of our Sony team participated in this program and hosted 3 students.
About the Lundquist Fellows Program:
The Richard and Melanie Lundquist Fellows Program started in 2010 to help identify young leaders in middle and high schools of the Partnership for Los Angeles Schools network. The program seeks to reward students who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and commitment to their schools, education and communities with an academic scholarship and opportunities for professional growth. Students submit an application including an essay and participate in an interview as part of the selection process. As a Lundquist Fellow, students will have the opportunity to participate in the Partnership’s Student Advisory Board, career shadowing opportunities, various Partnership events and a recognition ceremony. Lundquist Fellows will receive a $500 scholarship for successfully completing the program.
